December Quality Students

December Quality Students
Posted on 05/03/2021

Each month our classes nominate one of their peers to be the monthly Quality Student. This student is someone who is representing the 7 Habits of Happy Kids and being a leader throughout our school. Our Quality Students are then invited to a Leadership Social where we celebrate each student and learn how leadership is shown within our community.

We were joined by several of our Got Character High School students who discussed what leadership looked like in their high school experiences.

Derek Monize, Business Development Director for the non-profit organization Avenue of Life, was our guest speaker for this month as we focused on showing compassion. Mr. Monize is also the husband of Kindergarten teacher, Kerry Monize, and they have two sons who attend Pathfinder Elementary. Avenue of Life is a non-profit organization that works to mobilize our community to equip and empower low-income individuals and families to be self-sustained and independent.

After learning about how Avenue of Life helps our community our Quality Students helped put together Care Kits for people in need. The Pathfinder staff donated various items (chapstick, granola bars, bandaids, hand warmers, deodorant, water, etc.), and the students were able to make 50 care kits to be handed out. This was a great way for students to put their learning into action!
