Hello and welcome! My name is Katie Ricker and I am excited to be joining the Pathfinder team this year teaching special education. I graduated from the University of Missouri – Columbia with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and additional qualifications in Middle School Social Studies. I began my teaching career as a fourth-grade teacher while I worked on my Master’s degree in K-12 Cross-Categorical Special Education, also from the University of Missouri – Columbia. This summer I completed my Educational Specialist from the University of Central Missouri in K-12 and Special Education Leadership. I have taught kindergarten through 12th grade students in both public and private schools. I have enjoyed teaching all the different age levels, but my passion is special education and reading development. I love developing relationships with kiddos, and I get giddy when they become excited and confident in their learning!
I am married to a very generous and serving man, and together we create a blended family of five boys ranging in ages from 13-20….and a boy dog! Our favorite things to do are cheer for our favorite sports teams, Mizzou, Chiefs, and Royals, spend time at the lake, AND EAT TACOS!
