Welcome to 3rd Grade!  I am excited to have you in our class!

My alma mater is Platte County High School!  I, myself, attended PCR-3 School District from Kindergarten -12th grade!  I have been teaching in the Platte County School District since 2000, making this my 22nd year!  I began my teaching career in 5th grade for 11 years, 4th grade for 1 year, and this is my tenth year in 3rd grade.

I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University), my 1st Master´s degree - Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Baker University, and  my  2nd Master´s degree - Master's of Education in Technology through Park University.  As you can see, I am constantly striving to learn new things every day!

My husband, Tony, and I have 5 amazing daughters; Brooke (25), Brittanie (22), Audrie (18), Mackenzie (16), and Kinlie (8).  We also have a grandson, Liam, who was born last December.  We love spending time with our family...whether it is at home having game night, watching our favorite family shows together, at a sporting event, or eating at one of our favorite restaurants.  We spend A LOT of time on the softball fields watching our girls play college ball, high school ball, and competitive ball.  Besides being a huge softball fan (Go Emporia State Hornets and MCC Wolves - where two of my daughters currently play softball), I am also a Kansas City Royals fan, Kansas City Chiefs fan, and a Kansas Jayhawks fan!

I have high expectations for all students and believe all students can learn!  And, with a great partnership between you and me, your child will be very successful and grow as a 3rd grader!  I have an open-door policy, so please don't ever hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.  I am looking forward to another fun and great year!

Class Mission Statement

We, the 3rd Grade students in Mrs. Moretina's class, promise to follow directions, help others to learn, be prepared, listen, stay focused, and participate.  We will do this to get really smart, get ready for 4th grade, and be the best that we can be.
